comeback + weird experiences with bloggers?

I have returned. Once again.

(This cycle of prolonged absences needs to stop.)

Anyway, I figured a good comeback blog post would be a little story about this one blogger I interacted with back when I had like 50 followers on my Instagram.

So, for the purposes of this little story I won’t give out any names (I am tempted, but no.) So this lady was a pretty established blogger I think, and I had just started getting into the “k-beauty blogger” community online which is how I came across her blog, which to be fair, was a really good blog. So, naturally,  I followed her on IG and we DM’ed a few times, and she seemed pretty nice and one day, she happened to ask where I was from. To which I replied, not really thinking much of it- but then she stopped replying. Which, ok I gave her benefit of the doubt thinking she might’ve been busy or something (she had seen the message though) but then again, her blog her decision. And then a couple days later I found that the lady had blocked me. And all she knew about me was my nationality.  In the end, it is her blog and her decision who can see her content and who can’t but I did feel a bit sad because she was a pretty good blogger. But then again I do respect the fact that she probably didn’t want to interact with any Indians? I really don’t know how to feel about the situation (also it happened quite a while ago.) I mean no shade to her nationality/ country of residence since I have interacted with others from those places and they all seem to be really nice people.

(what do you think about this situation?)

Alright then, that is the end of the story.

As for where I’ve been- I had a couple of exams to take (which I guess I’ve mentioned before) and I had been interning (I’m gonna write about that soon too). So things got really busy and I ended up just focusing on IG for a bit. College is going to be starting soon, and I’ll probably be busy again so I figured I’d write a bunch of posts so I could have content going up regularly enough. This blog has been dead for far too long!!

I won a giveaway for the first time.

Ok before I start I know I’ve been gone for quite a while (life got really busy and honestly it hasn’t let up a whole lot yet but I’m trying. I’m a lot more active on my Instagram page so follow me there! I’m trying to write blog content as much as I can but It can get tough to come up with things to say even if I have a post idea in mind, haha.

Anyway, here’s a post to make up for my absence, I’ll try and be regular as soon as I can, I promise.

Shout out to Nameeta for hosting the giveaway and giving me this amazing prize! (She’s @drcosmetique on Instagram, here’s a link to her blog.)

So, this actually happened a while back (5th May, 2018 to be precise), and I’ve actually had a while to use and test out this palette so I’ll be able to review it properly. But first, here’s a picture of the prize and the note that Nameeta sent (the cutest thing ever I swear! I’m so happy you gave me the opportunity to win sis, and I hope to god you have even bigger milestones to celebrate in the future!)

Now, onto the actual product.

It’s an eyeshadow quad by Sugar Cosmetics (@trySugar on instagram)

Sugar Cosmetics products are available to order on Nykaa’s website, as well as Nykaa’s physical retail stores, and also on Sugar’s own website. Apart from there though I haven’t actually seen them in shops, which means either they aren’t sold a whole lot in physical retail stores or that I haven’t been shopping in a long, long time. (I tend to believe it’s the latter, but even if the former is true Nykaa’s website is basically the only place I shop from these days, so.)

The particular quad that I have is called “Blend The Rules- Eyeshadow Quad” in 01 Stronger. (I like the name, it’s a nice pun.)

Here is the product description as on the website.

Unleash your inner artist and create a makeup masterpiece every day with the SUGAR Blend The Rules Eyeshadow Quads. With a range of 17 high-performing mattes and extra-creamy metallics, these super-pigmented shades are infinitely smooth and incredibly easy to blend. Snap up these jaw-dropping hues in 18 captivating quads that come with a dual-ended sponge applicator. But wait, did we bring up its uber-chic packaging yet? This gorgeous tray of colours is built to dethrone the current pride of your vanity display. Talk about eye candy!
Craft the perfect daytime natural look with Stronger that lives up to its name with a mixture of medium brown, champagne gold, metallic chocolate and bronze gold.
List Of Ingredients:
Mica, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Talc, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Hexylene Glycol, Magnesium Myristate, Tin Oxide, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Silica, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Dimethicone, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Diisostearyl Malate, Hexyl Laurate, Zinc Stearate. May Contain: Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Carmine, Ferric, Ferrocyanide, Bismuth Oxychloride, Ultramarines, Red 7 Lake, Yellow 5 Lake.

And, finally, the swatches.

It’s your average neutral palette with brown and coppery shades, with the golden highlight shade that works well as a cheekbone highlighter as well. The eyeshadows are smooth, or in beauty blogger lingo buttery, and they blend out really easily. They’re also super pigmented and easy to work with making them my no.1 pick for a good beginners eyeshadow palette. Plus, the shades are really wearable.

For me, my number one grievance with eyeshadows has been the fact that they never show up very well on my eyelids and most other brands like Revlon and Maybelline have been a real let down- even the Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil was “meh, she’s cute, I guess” at best. But these, these are a definite contender for the “lit” category. (Yes I’m making YouTube references cringe all you want.) but this palette is amazing! It performs exactly how I want an eyeshadow to, and the best part is the fact that the shades are good dupes for certain M.A.C. eyeshadows that I’ve been eyeing (but couldn’t justify buying).

I’ll give this one a 10/10 would recommend and repurchase!

Interning: Week 1.

So, as part of our course, we’re required to intern for 2 months in the summer.

And as far as our firm goes, since it’s a small firm we’re pretty much working the same hours as full-time employees, which is why I haven’t had time to do anything but adjust to actually working and somehow keep up with my studying, lol.

I’ve been watching all my friends working hard to keep their Instagram feeds beautiful and alive and even post on their blogs regularly and I feel more motivated to post regularly though I don’t really have a whole lot of beauty content since I don’t keep buying products all that often hehe. I try, though.

Anyway, this was more of an update to say “hey, I’m still around” tbh I’ll probably write more content pretty soon, though.

March Perfume Empties: Carolina Herrera CH eau de parfum Sublime.

Here’s my “empties” post for the month of March.

Carolina Herrera’s CH eau de parfum Sublime.

I bought this perfume last July as a birthday gift to myself- and I did truly love it (though the scent faded away a bit too soon for my liking.) Overall it was a nice floral scent, suited to daytime wear and though I loved it I don’t think I’d repurchase simply because it wasn’t strong enough (possibly due to the climatic conditions of where I live). But it is a lovely perfume, nonetheless.

The opening notes are bergamot and passionflower, the body is roses and orchids and the base notes are patchouli, moss, leather and amber. (According to

Review: Innisfree Orchid Enriched Cream

The one I have is more of a travel size. Look at it, it’s so cute. ^^

Anyway- about the actual product.

This stuff is crazy good- so incredibly moisturizing. Just a little bit is enough for my face and my face is really dry.

This was the part of the Innisfree Winter Skin Care Puzzle Collection Holiday Limited Edition~

Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Propanediol, Glycerin, Cyclohexasiloxane, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Squalane, Arbutin, Phenyl Trimethicone, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Adenosine, Orchid Extract, Tangerine Peel Extract, The green Tea Extract, Prickly Pear Extract, Camellia Leaf Extract, Pea Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Dimethicone, Dimethicone/Phenyl Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Lauryl PEG-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Sodium Chloride, Ethylhexylglycerin, Kaolin, Polysilicone-11, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance (Jeju Orchid Extract 250mg)

According to 화해 app, the bad ingredients on this list are:

PEG-10 Dimethicone

Lauryl PEG-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone

Fragrance (Jeju Orchid Extract 250mg)

Technically prolonged usage of these should damage your skin but since they have the yellow colour code they aren’t technically as bad, so all in all this is a pretty good cream.

Luxury Lip Product: My Essentials.

Greetings, readers.

This post is about luxury lip products that are a must-have, in my opinion. One is make-up, the other I would categorize as more of a skincare product. Both well worth it, as expected from the brands that created them.

Elizabeth Arden: Beautiful Color Luminous Lip Gloss in the Shade ‘Red Door Red’.

Product Description as per the Elizabeth Arden website.

Beautiful Color Luminous Lip Gloss has a silky smooth texture and imparts rich color and lustrous shine. Infused with conditioning and hydrating ingredients, this non-sticky gloss soothes and comforts lips like a balm. Maxi-lip™ helps support natural collagen for plumper, fuller looking lips. A soft tip “paddle” applicator deposits the perfect amount of gloss, and a built-in mirror is perfect for on-the-go application.

It’s a gorgeous shade of red- which I usually smudge out and wear as more of a lip gradient (since I’m not really comfortable wearing too bold of a lip color) so it’s a pretty shade of dark pink when I use it. It’s slightly sticky but not overly so, smells sweet but not as strongly as M.A.C lip products (those smell sickly sweet) and lasts for a decent amount of time as far as lip glosses go.  I am pretty happy with it for someone who doesn’t like wearing lip glosses. After many purchases I have made, I wouldn’t mind having only this as the one colored lip product in my collection.

Estée Lauder: Lip Conditioner

Product details as per the Estée Lauder website.

A soothing moisture treatment for your lips. The lip-caring formula hydrates, smooths and comforts lips. Includes Vitamins C and E, Shea Butter and other naturally derived moisturizers.

Wear it two ways: Apply under lipstick as a moisturizing base coat. Or wear it overnight as an intensive moisture treatment.

This lip balm I bought after I ran out of the L’occitane Baume De Rose lip balm, which was well loved, really. That one was amazing- and this one is even better. For starters, it is super moisturizing without being greasy and leaving an oily residue- this leaves close to nothing on the lips and makes the lips smooth, plump and slightly pink! Not to mention the packaging is so so pretty. The only downside is that it’s really expensive for a lip balm but given that a little product goes a long way,  I see it lasting for quite a while. Not that I’m complaining. Also, it’s well worth the price in my opinion.

Classic Movies: Legally Blonde, 2001.

Greetings, and welcome back to another post on my favorite “classic” movies~

I’m honestly thinking of making this into a series or something because honestly why not? Maybe people will get some good recommendations out of this. It’s all good, right?

Anyway, the movie being discussed today is Legally Blonde, 2001.

Again, this is one of the movies that’s a part of my childhood memories, and I absolutely love it. Also, Elle Woods is one of those characters that just makes you want to work harder and do better at school, so I tend to watch this movie around exam season when I’m feeling too lazy to do anything.

One of the things I loved about this movie was Elle’s sorority, Delta Nu. Like honestly they were the most supportive people I’ve ever seen, on screen or in real life. Definitely not in real life, though.

Also, Elle happens to be one of the most bright, warm, positive and hardworking characters out there. Usually, the typical female lead of a chick flick is a romance-obsessed mean girl/ introverted girl who somehow does everything but focus on school, and Elle has changed that stereotype- even if it’s only just one movie.

It’s a fun watch for entertainment, and great for reflecting on yourself if you would like to grow as a person as well.

A still from the scene when she gets her LSAT score.
